I was working on a Mother's Day card idea and Made this instead.  See how my brain works.  ha ha

"Sending you Sunshine"

Direction:

Cut Clear Vinyl cover to make your card base.  Stamp flower in Palette "Violet Varnish" and "Lustrous Lilac"  Heat set and accent with Deco Color "Fine Line" Opaque Paint Marker in white.

Inside of card is black cardstock.  I stamp "Sending you Sunshine, Laughter and Hugs" with Embossing Ink and Embossed using Filigree "Gold".

Stamp Mike Strong "Cloisonné Tulip" on transparence using Palette "Noir Black".  Turn over the transparence and colored the stem using Silk "Lime Green" and the Tulip is "Lustrous Lilac" tap on with a make up sponge.  cut it out and added to card.

April 24, 2009

I went to lunch with Mike Strong of "Strong Stamps".  We did a products trade.  I gave him a MasquePen with the Super Nib and my DVD "MasquePen Magic" and he give me his latest set of stamps.  "Cloisonné Tulip" "Cloisonné words and Phrases" and "Textuizing"  Very cool stamps please stop by his site and check them out.  http://www.stongstamps.com

At lunch I was telling him how much he will fall in love with the MasquePen, we were joking about when he fall in love with it - He much e-mail me and tell me all about this new love.   It did not take long, When I got home there was a e-mail for me and he sent me this project he made using His stamps and the MasquePen.  Quote:  "I walk in the door, found the first stamp my eye saw, ink and embossing powder and 10 minutes later I was in LOVE"

Sorry about it be blurry - But I want it big enough for you to see what he did.

This is his Cloisonné Egg stamp.  He stamped in black and then embossed in black.  Use the MasquePen on the area which are not green.  After the MasquePen dried (10 minute), he color all the rest of the egg.  Peel off the MasquePen and came up with this great project.....  Very cool Mike - Keep up the good work...

Well I am a grandmother of 3 so sweet kittens.  I have not been able to get photo of all of them yet.  But I did get my hands on one of them.  Hope you enjoy the photo.  She had them under my bed in the corner where I can't see them....

Here is a picture of  the only one I could get my hands on - only 12 hours old

 SO SWEET!!!!

April 22, 2009

My cat "Peanut" had kitten last night.  I am a grandmother of 3 or 4 kittens.  They are under the bed where I can't see them very well.  I will let you know more - when I see more.  Anyways, Peanut had to put out a birth announcement about her first litter of babies.  So here is the birth announcement she made.   LOL

"Birth Announcement"

this is the full announcements.  She made the background using the MasquePen/Memory Mists Watercolor technique.  Peanut suggest at you can go to http://www.youtube.com/terrisproul to see how to do this.

After she made the background she adhere behind a piece of transparency.  On the transparence she adhere sticker, and rub-on.

Here is a close up of the background and some of the stickers that Peanut like the best.  "My First" is a sticker and "kittens" is a rub-on.

She did not have the right color silk flower so she watched mommy's video on how to make your silk flower the color you want .  Please visit mommy video at http://www.youtube.com/terrisproul

I just complete this project - It's my favorite - But My last project is always my favorite.  I am writing a Newsletter for Stewart Superior, we are going to try and get a new blog up and a newsletter out.  It's that great news...  I am so excited about working with them.  Anyways, here is the new project

"Bella"

Check out the metallic Inks on the flowers.  This was done with Palette Metallic Inks:  colors:  Lustrous Lilac, Vermillion Glow,

Violet Varnish and a flower stamp.  I also accent the middle of the flower with Opaque Paint Marker in white.

There is many different techniques in this project.  I am doing a video this week on the background.  I used MasquePen and a watercolor technique using Memory Mists.

The Butterfly is a stamp.  I stamp onto transparency and color the back of the butterfly with Silk.

Another great and super easy technique is coloring your silk flowers.  I did not have a dark purple silk flower.  But I had white silk flowers, So I spray white flower with Memory Mist in "Classic Metallic Purple" - heat set with my embossing gun and I have a dark purple flower!!!!!!   I just can get over all the thing you can do with Memory Mists.

Look for Step by Step direction in the upcoming newsletter for Stewart Superior.

Well I did two project yesterday, One was for my husbands birthday.  He is not happy about his birthday anymore, so I was unable to make a card that said "happy Birthday" so I make this one instead.  He love it!!!!!

This was a very simple card.

"Hugs and Kisses"

Directions:

1)  Pink cardstock from Die cuts with a View.  Love there paper is got a texture to it.  Fold in half to make a card base.

2)  Using Sweetbrier Studio Heart Mold and Paper clay I make the heart embellishment.  Check out http://www.youtube.com/terrisproul to see how to use mold and Paperclay.  Check out there site also at http://www.paperclay.com.   After the Paperclay embellishment is dry I painted with Twinkling H2O's "Garnet".

3)  Hugs and Kisses is a Rub-on, added some ribbon.  It's done.

Here is another great project I did for Stampotique - check out there site to get these stamps at http://www.stampotique.com

"Art and Soul"

I used a per-made card base (only because I have them).  Ink all edges using Stewart Superiors "Memories Chalk "Washed Tan"

Using the Fiskars Lace border punch - I punch lace design out on a scrap paper.  Place over the edge of card base and spray with Memory Mists ""Stormy Water".

Place some pattern paper which I cut using a scallop scissors and ink all the edges using Memories Chalk "Washed Tan".

In the center:  I used Memory "Art Print Brown" ink and Stampotique Stamp "Art is the energy of the soul".  The frame is a Chip board frame cover with Pattern paper and ink on all edges.

This is a Paperclay leaf which I mold using Sweetbrier Studio Mold and Paperclay.  I painted the leaf with Twinkling H2O's "blue grass" and went over it using Stewart Superior "Gold" Silk - gave it some sparkle.

The flower is a silk flower from the 99 cent store.  I punched holes in the flower to add a little distress look also ink flower using memories Chalk "Washed Tan"  Add a Brad.  See how to change the color of your brad at http://www.youtube.com/terrisproul

Under the flower embellishments I stamped using Palette" Ballet Blue" ink and Stampotique "Vintage Script".  Stamp image on the corner only.

This is a great close up of the lace border I make using the Memory Mists and border Punch as a mask.  Thinking out of the Box again.

April 17th, 2009

Today is my husband, Marc's Birthday.  Planning on make a nice dinner and watch a movie or two.

While making his birthday card yesterday, I came up with this technique.

"Happy Card"

I used Stewart Superiors Silk in four different colors:  Green, Blue, Gold, and Purple

I also used Stewart Superior's Varnish in the following colors:  Copper Penny, Blazing Blue and Periwinkle

1)  On two sheets of  Transparence I paint all of the color in both Silk and Varnish,  I place a different color in different corners of the transparence sheet.  You could mix the color if you choose - for this technique I did not.  Let them dry - HINT:  Silk dry quickly - But the Varnish may need you to take a heat gun to it.  Make sure you keep the gun moving so you do burn the transparence.

2)  I cut from the transparence sheet  lots of Circles.  HINT: use a punch, circle cutter or trace and cut with scissors.

3)  Place colored circle in a please pattern on your card base.  I use yellow cardstock - cut to 10" 5" to make a 5"x5" card.

4)  Stamp Stampotique "Altered Happy" with Palette "Prussian Blue".  I stamped my image 3 times over the cards.

This is a easy technique you can use with many shapes.  Think about using Squares, Hearts, or Stars.  Enjoy this technique and remember to always think out of the box and off the page.

April 16, 2009

Yesterday, I went to a Tea Party in Escondido, CA.  There were about 3000+ people there and it's was exciting to see and feel the people who just love the good old USA.  You see and hear so some much hate in these states that is was just wonderful to feel that much love for your country.  I hope everyone who did not attend one this time, maybe think about attend the next.  It really was just a bunch of people who love this country of our - NOT republican or Democrats - JUST AMERICANS!!!

Well let get to the fun stuff.  I did do a small project the last few days.  I made Magnets for my refrigerator.

Product List and Links

http://www.amazingmoldputty.com - This is the Molding Putty I used to make my own mold - See how to video at http://www.youtube.com/terrisproul

http://www.stewartsuperior.com - I used "Variegated Blue" metal Leaf and Palette "Stamp and Stick Glue Refill"  You can see how to use at http://www.youtube.com/terrisproul

http://www.Paperclay.com - for the Best Paper Clay around

and some magnets - I picked up at the hardware store.

I have uploaded a few video on Youtube.  One will show you how to make your own molds using Amazing Mold Putty (great stuff) that video names is : "Make your own molds"

There is another video on Youtube called : Paperclay and Molds - this one will show you how to use Paperclay and molds together to make great embellishments.  I turn my paper clay piece into magnets.

I am almost ready to place up another video on Youtube on metal Leaf "Metal Leaf and Paperclay" this will show you how to apply Palette Metal Leaf to your Paperclay embellishment.

So to make my "Heart Candy Magnets"

1)  Made my own mold

2)  Molded my Paperclay into my embellishment and let it dry.

3)  Added the "Metal leaf" to my Paperclay embellishment and seal with http://www.stewartsuperior.com "Silk" Try using the different color of the silk - It make a different look on each piece.  Remember to PLAY

4)  Adhered magnets to the back of your Paperclay pieces using Helmar 450 adhesive, Set aside to dry and place on Refrigerator

Here you can see I tried different color of the Silk - I used Blue and Gold Silk on these ones.

April 11, 2009

I have place up on Youtube two new short videos.  One is how to change the color of a brad, and the other is How to make your own molds.  check it out and I hope you enjoy them  http://www.youtube.com/terrisproul

Here is the layout I have been working on.  It's got a lot of cool techniques.  Hope you enjoy this one

    "Birthday"

Here is the finished layout.  It was my birthday trip to Disneyland with my friend Pat.  We try and go a few times per year.  I used three different pattern papers - place strip on the top and bottom (bottom was cut using a scalloped scissors).  The light brown script paper was ripped to add more texture.  The large scalloped purple paper is Die cut with a View.

I talked about this part the other day.  I used some of my old stencils with Memory Mists "Amaretto" on pattern Paper.  Love the look and a great way to use those stencils.  I place a birthday sticker over pattern vellum and attach with brads.  Check out my brad video on http://www.youtube.com/terrisproul.

Here I used a chip board frame, painted with acrylic paint, a light brown color  and while paint was still wet I poured on Stewart Superiors Filigree "Bavarian Bronze embossing Powder, heat with your heat gun.  If you paint is thick - it give a really cool look.

TIP:  I used a larger photo and add the frame to bring your eye to the important parts.

Love this tag:  Here I started with a white tag and spray with Memories Mists:  "Pale Ale".  Stamp using Hero Arts "Windy Tree" stamp and Memory "Art Print Brown" Dye Ink from Stewart Superior.  The flower was made by spraying Memory Mists "Amaretto" onto white cardstock heavy - while ink is still wet - I applied Bavarian Bronze embossing powder and heated with embossing gun.  Add second coat of embossing powder and heated again.  This give you a leather look.  I punch a flower from Leather Cardstock using punch from EK Success.  On top of punched flower I add a silk flower and a brad.  In the left side corner - I used a date stamp with my birthday from the post office.  Ink the image with "Art Print Brown" Dye ink.  Add some lace and vellum word "live, Laugh, Love" with staples.  Add some ribbon.

This corner was made using the Leather Embossing technique I show you before.  (See April 8th, 2009)

April 10, 2009

While clean up my studio and going through some old things - I found all my old stencil - you remember those stencil well had 10 - 15 years ago when we started scrapbooking and the only thing they had is stickers, die cut and stencils - lots of stencils.  Well I started thinking and came up with this one.  I really like it.

 "Memory Mists Stenciling"

Sprayed Memory Mists "Amaretto" by http://www.stewartsuperior.com over my stencil of this flower from ClubScrap on to a pattern paper.  After spraying on the Memory Mists I sprinkled on a little Bavarian Bronze Embossing Powder and heated with Embossing Gun.

Hint:  Use some scrap paper to help with your stencils.

I hope this get you thing about those old stencils.  Memory Mist come is many different colors

April 8th, 2009

While trying to do something total different - which did not work the way I wanted - I came up with this Technique.  I am calling it "Leather Embossing"

Here is way I did.

"Leather Embossing"

I had these raw chipboard corner - I spray them with Memories Mists:  "Amaretto" very heavy.  WHILE ink is still WET I sprinkled on my Bavarian Bronze Embossing Powder. Heat the powder and add a second layer of powder while powder is still hot.  Two layer is all I needed.

Both the Memory Mist and the Embossing Powder are both from http://www.stewartsuperior.com - please purchase them.  I used they Filigree embossing powder - BUT I do believe this would great with Cloisonné Embossing powder also.

I also did this technique on cardstock - it was great.  Only on layer of Powder was need - The Chip Board is more porous.   It really looks like leather.  I will show you more of this project later.

April 7th, 2009

Check out this Easter Card I made.  This is a great way to use those multi colored ink pads.  Also reminder about those Easter Eggs.  You can make the best eggs ever with the MasquePen and my Easter Eggs Video on my site.  http://www.terrisproul.com

Check it out - You still have time to purchase your MasquePen and get ready for those eggs.

Directions:  "Easter Card"

1)  On white card add Memories Pigment "Celebration Rainbow" inkpad using a Brayer.  Just ink up your Brayer with "Celebration Rainbow" Ink and run across a piece of white cardstock.  While ink is still wet, add Superiors Cloisonné "Crystal Clear" embossing powder.  Heat with embossing gun.  Cut out egg shape.  Think about other shapes - hearts?

2)  Cut and fold green cardstock into card shape.  Stamp "Grass" from "Stampa Rosa" onto cardstock using Palette "Viridian Leaf" ink.  The Grass stamp I have is pretty old and I don't believe this company is still around.  But it's the only grass stamp I have at this time.  Sorry I don't have any more info regarding this stamp.

3)  Matt "Easter" embellishment onto gray cardstock using silver brads, adhere to card.  Adhere Eggs

That was a quick and easy cards.  I love the look of the Embossing powder on top of the ink.

March 21, 2009

Here is another ATC project:

"Altered Time"

This ATC was made using a Stampbord (http://www.stampbord.com), This stampbord product is a wonderful surface to stamp and add inks too.  I have used there product in a few of my project, (see http://www.terrisproul.com for more examples).

1)  Ink stampbord with http://www.stewartsuperior.com Palette Orangerie in the center and Memories Golden Sunkiss around the edges.  Ink up Timeless Stamp from http://www.stampotique.com with Memories Print Brown and stamp off the edge of the stampbord.

2)  Use a piece of transparence I embossed using the Sizzix Machine "swirls" embossing stencil.  After I embossed it I add some Memories Pint Brown directly to transparence to accent the embossed impression.

3)  Stamp using permitted ink onto a transparence using Stampotiuqe "Hand" Stamp #8115.N and cut it out

4)  I only had white string - so I ink using Memory Mists and tied string into a bow.  Adhered bow to finger with a glue dot.

5)  Adhere Embossed transparence piece on to right hand side using Helmar V2.  Adhered Hand over the Swirl piece

6)  Stamp "Altered" (also Stampotique Stamp) using Palette Black ink,  Wrote Time with Black marker.

7)  Stamp back of ATC using "Artist Trading Card" Stamp.   #7232.M and fill in the info

There is a video also on http://www.terrisproul.com regarding ATC - Please take a few and check it out.
